Cardinal Gymnastics is a well established gymnastics facility in the heart of Fairfax County, VA. With over 13,000 square feet, the gym offers all women’s competitive events as well as trampolines, Tumbl Trak, foam pits, resi landings, and training equipment.
Cardinal Gymnastics took new ownership in November 2021, with husband and wife, Kurt Turner and Maija Paegle. Kurt started his gymnastics coaching journey in 1988 in Hampton, VA. From there, he went on to become a judge and the Head Coach of a Division I college program. He knew teaching younger gymnasts was his true passion so he then moved to Northern Virginia and became a coach for Cardinal Gymnastics. After 12 years at Cardinal, he moved to Arlington Aerials to coach which is where he met Maija. Maija started gymnastics at age 8 and continued with competitive gymnastics throughout high school. She then went on to be a Division I college diver for Georgetown University. While getting her Masters Degree in Sports Management from Georgetown, she continued to coach gymnastics at Arlington Aerials where she met Kurt. Together, they are realizing their dream of owning an operating a gymnastics program and look forward to the future of Cardinal Gymnastics!
